MES delivers 56,000DWT type bulk carrier to Lakshmi Navigation

Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (MES), Japan recently delivered a 56,000DWT type bulk carrier, ‘Darya Lakshmi’ to Lakshmi Navigation, Hong Kong.

MES Hull No. 1754, the ‘Darya Lakshmi’ completed at its Tamano Works was delivered to the vessel owner, Lakshmi Navigation, Hong Kong. The vessel is managed by Chellaram Shipping (Hong Kong).

The vessel called as “Mitsui 56”, highly appreciated has a huge cargo hold capacity over 70,000 cubic metres and marks the 89th ship of its series and features to have a length of 189.9 metres, a moulded beam of 32.26 metres, a moulded depth of 17.9 metres and a moulded draught of 12.55 metres. The vessel achieves a maximum speed of 14.5 knots via a 9,480kW Mitsui-Man B&W 6D50MC-C engine.

Classed by Lloyd’s Register, the ‘Darya Lakshmi’ is flagged in Hong Kong.
